Though they've been big in the Dominican Republic since 2004, I've just now discovered Calor Urbano. I was slightly dissapointed upon realizing that the Juan Luis Guerra concert (July 18th) would have an opening act, but this Dominican group won me over real quick. Calor Urbano is set to open for Juan Luis Guerra's "La Travesia" tour across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Vicente García, Carlos Chapuseaux , Adolfo Guerrero y Joel Berrido create un jazz, pop, soul fusion divino. It even bothered me that the crowd at Madison Square Garden that night was restless as Calor Urbano played their 3 song opening set, which left me wanting more. Juan Luis Guerra was incredible, which goes without saying...if he believes in their talent, so should you!
