Who is Elsie Ramos?

Chef, Author and TV Reality Show Star!  As a contestant on the first season of Fox TV’s Hell’s Kitchen, Elsie’s simple, no nonsense approach to cooking won her millions of fans and drew accolades from the notoriously hard-to-please star chef Gordon Ramsay.
                                        
Elsie Ramos was born and raised in New York City in a large Puerto Rican family where she learned to cook at an early age. She was one of twelve contestants on the premiere season of the hit reality show Hell’s Kitchen, and although she didn’t win, Elsie was clearly America’s favorite. After appearing on the show, she attended the French Culinary Institute to enhance her cooking skills and continues to get dinner on the table every night for her large family.

Her first book, ELSIE’S TURKEY TACOS AND ARROZ CON POLLO: More than 100 Latin-Flavored, Great-Tasting Recipes for Working Moms, contains her best family-friendly recipes, including the turkey tacos and chicken soup that won raves from Chef Ramsey on the show. This collection of more than 100 dishes utilizes easy-to-find ingredients and offers short cooking times without sacrificing quality or flavor.
