The Latin Grammy’s kicked off last night in Houston with Juanes and John Legend singing a tragic bilingual duo of "If You Are Out There." Legend was almost inaudible at times and it’s unclear whether this was a result of his broken Spanish or some technical problem off stage.
Maybe he was blow away by Juanes' gorgeousness. We were. And as we predicted, he won in every category he was nominated for. A black-clad Juanes accepted his final award of the evening by thanking the American people for choosing the right president. The Colombian heartthrob who was recently compared to Bono (Say que? Have you seen Bono? No contest.) now holds a record 17 Grammy Awards.
Barely covered by feathers and straps,
Alejandra Guzman offered one of the most uncomfortable moments as she straddled a grand piano while crooning her “anthemic ‘Hasta el Final.’” Her barelythere gown had wardrobe malfunction written all over it. Still, she managed to finish her performance (on 4-inch heels no less) without incident.
Oh yeah, Gloria Estefan, and a bunch of other people were there too.
